Digital Revolution Awards 2025
In partnership with BBC Children's and Education and Nominet, the BBC micro:bit - the next gen campaign won the Not-For-Profit Digital Project of the Year Award at the Digital Revolution Awards 2025.
This landmark initiative saw nearly 700,000 micro:bits rolled out to primary schools across the UK, alongside training, support, and exciting activations such as unique CBBC collaborations, the micro:bit playground survey (which included an exciting machine learning activity) and the Gladiators micro:bit competition.
It aimed to spark digital curiosity in children aged 7-11, empower teachers with hands-on tools and training, and help close the UK’s digital skills gap, recognising that today’s children won’t just use technology, they’ll shape what comes next.
