About the micro:bit

There are now over 20 million children around the world learning with the micro:bit at school. It’s also super easy to learn to code and get hands-on with the micro:bit at home.

You can buy a micro:bit from one of the many resellers around the world. The Micro:bit Educational Foundation does not sell the micro:bit directly. For every device sold a small royalty is paid to fund the Foundation’s work.

Microsoft lessons

The MakeCode team at Microsoft have a collection of video guides and online tutorials to get you started with the micro:bit.

Microsoft online learning

The Microsoft Ireland education team are also doing live HomeSpace lessons with MakeCode and micro:bit on Mondays at 1pm UK time and you can watch them back at any time on their YouTube channel.
